I created Rubyyot.com for two reasons. The first of which is because I have a lot going on in my life. Because of this I looked for ways of organizing all of my information and responsibilities. In this search I came across the book Getting Things Done (GTD), and I really liked the system. However, and this brings me to my second reason, I was not able to find a suitable data collection tool. I am a software developer, and have come to love the convenience that electronic formats provide the ability to search and sort easily. The to-do lists and other assorted online tools I tried, while having a number of cool features, were both too rigid and too generic for my tastes. I tried the hipster PDA, and liked it's portability, but it's (my) lack of structure soon degraded it into a worn down notepad. After some time I decided to write my own website to track all my stuff. At this it is in alpha mode and may have frequent changes. If you decide to try it out, please do provide me feedback on your experience. - Jamal Hansen
